XBase is a database designed for the capture, storage and sharing of multimedia
data relating to explosive devices and the intelligence surrounding incidents
such as events, people, thefts and targets.
The structure of the database has been developed under the guidance of experts
in the IED field and consists of pre-defined datasets to help officers gather
data in a productive manner.
Any record can have an unlimited number of images, video clips or other files
attached (dependent of course on hard disk space available).
The value of the data collected is improved by employing 'linking' facilities
that bring together specific data and datasets allowing the users easily create
a picture of the main incident.
Furthermore the communication facilities allow collated intelligence,
comprising individual records and databases, to be shared with other XBase
machines over a local or wide area network. Existing data is easily
interrogated using the program’s search facility.
