Photophone allows users to capture, store and transmit high quality still video images or video in seconds over a standard (PSTN) or cellular (GSM) phone line, 3G, RF links, Satellite communications or Local Area Networks (LAN). Photophone can be installed on a laptop, desktop, hand-held or tablet PC, or on a PDA device running Windows Mobile 5. It provides the user with the ability to capture images from any video source, scanners, digital cameras or other computer-generated pictures. The captured images can then be transmitted between locations within a few seconds, and the users can communicate interactively with other Photophone users, providing that the relevant security permissions have been granted. These transmitted images can then be stored by the receiver (either within Photophone folders or in image-enabled databases) and printed out using a standard colour inkjet printer. The Photophone also provides the facility to annotate a copy of the original image, so that more information than just a photo is transmitted to the receiver. Photophone specifications
